Physical and mental well-being

My job at the wellbeing centre at the Felbertal work school is to look after the physical and mental wellbeing of the pupils.

It is extremely fulfilling for me to work with young people. This includes treating wounds as well as sports and leisure injuries or using alternative healing methods such as applying throat compresses for sore throats as well as providing care for various illnesses. I am also on hand to help with a wide range of emotional and educational concerns. The holistic aspect is always at the centre of my care for young people.

Medical organisation & cooperation

Another focus is the organisation of all aspects of school medicine. This includes working with our school doctor Dr Michaela Schwarzenbacher on the annual school examinations and planning and carrying out vaccinations together with the public health department.

mein Name ist Dr. Miriam Lainer, Ärztin für Allgemein- und Familienmedizin.

Ab September 2026 werde ich als Schulärztin am Werkschulheim Felbertal tätig sein.

Examinations & prevention

Zu meinen Aufgaben zählen die gesundheitliche Beratung der Schulcommunity sowie Maßnahmen der Gesundheitsvorsorge. Ich führe die jährliche verpflichtende Reihenuntersuchung durch. Bitte geben Sie Ihrem Kind dafür den Impfpass oder eine Kopie mit. Bei Auffälligkeiten erhalten Eltern bzw. Schüler:innen eine entsprechende Information.

Fred Kellner-Steinmetz

Counselling by the school psychologist

My name is Fred Kellner-Steinmetz and I have been working as a psychologist at WSH since the 2002/03 school year.
I attended the WSH myself, so I am all the more pleased to be working with you. I am happy to help find solutions to any problems, questions and conflicts that arise.

You can also turn to me if you have learning difficulties or exam nerves.
Of course, I am also available for counselling sessions with your parents and teachers.
It goes without saying that all discussions are treated in the strictest confidence, and attempts to find a solution are always considered and implemented together.

I'm looking forward to working with you and hope that I can help you feel at home at WSH.
