Personal comment: The Werkschulheim is an exceptional school. The holistic education of adolescents is unrivalled in the Austrian school cosmos. The countless opportunities to develop talents is an important aspect in the development of personality and individuality. As a pupil, you often don't realise what you are learning all the things you are taught at school for. I am convinced that a lot of things need to be learnt less for specific knowledge and more for ‚learning to think‘. I wouldn't be able to cope with many tasks today if I hadn't completed the work-study programme. It's just amazing that there aren't more schools of this type in Austria.
