Candy vending machine - Grab & Snack

Kevin Frauscher

The candy machine I designed stands out due to its uniqueness, which is given to it by its robot arm, which is located in the centre at the back of the base plate. The housing is made of aluminium profiles, which are decorated with black acrylic panels and fitted with Plexiglas panels in the play area, so that you have a good view, of course, but also can't intervene directly. The Roboarm can be operated via a control panel, which has 3 potentiometers, a button and a coin tester. After inserting a coin, the game starts, the 3 potentiometers can be used to control the 3 basic axes and the button can be used to open and close the shovel head on the gripper arm. The aim is to collect the sweets lying on the base plate in front of you and transport them into the dispensing chute. The machine recognises whether you have a prize in the dispensing tray and blocks you from continuing to play. The prize can be removed via a pressure flap. The machine also has a service flap and an LED display. The whole thing is controlled via an Arduino Mega, which sits on the interface board and can read in and output all inputs and outputs from there. The piece is ideal for parties and the like.
