Spiral potato cutter

Titian Zippel

The spiral potato slicer I designed combines precise mechanics, modern sensor technology and intuitive controls. Made from high-quality aluminium profiles, the appliance offers both stability and clear aesthetics. After inserting the potato, the cutting process can be started using an external button. A special device rotates the potato and guides it evenly through the fixed cutting blade, creating a perfect spiral. The finished spiral potato falls directly into a collecting tray. The device is operated with 24V and has a specially developed interface board that controls the components via Arduino Mega. The operating status and the cutting process are shown on a touch display. Sensors monitor the process and ensure that it runs smoothly. The black acrylic panels add to the design and tastefully disguise the technology, while the transparent acrylic panels give the user a direct view of the cutting process. They also provide additional safety by shielding the user from the process. My spiral potato slicer combines technology and functionality while delivering a delicious end result.
