Pumuckl„ sideboard“

Felicia Salm-Reifferscheidt

The body of the sideboard I designed is made of blockboard veneered in mahogany and is visually emphasised by an all-round shadow gap. The solid mahogany base lends the piece of furniture stability and lightness, while the tapered legs create a harmonious silhouette. The focus of the piece of furniture is on the door on the left, whose veneer pattern is composed of trapezoidal elements in mahogany, maple and smoked oak. The precise arrangement creates a fascinating 3D effect. The door opens with a tip-on mechanism to reveal an adjustable compartment. On the right-hand side there are two classically organised drawers, one of which is fitted with a magnetic lock. Below this is another adjustable compartment. The entire surface has been treated with colourless hard oil wax, which highlights the natural wood grain. A piece of furniture that brings uniqueness to a room.
