Automatic tower clock

Paul Janos Esterhazy

The „Automatic Tower Clock“ is a control system for clocks and bells that was developed for use in churches or towers. It consists of two main components: an operating control element for simple configuration and operation of the system and a mechanical actuator element. This controls the clockwork via a motor and activates the bells. Sensors reference the hands daily with a radio signal, which is received and decoded. The mechanical actuator element in the demo setup has a model gearbox; in real use with a clockwork, this is omitted and only the actuator element is installed, including the upper housing, the sensors and the stepper motor.
