Sideboard

Anna Sams

The sideboard I designed consists of a carcass made of blockboard and veneered in oak. The carcase is mitred and joined with slats. The doors are fixed on the inside with mortise hinges. In addition, the sideboard is divided by a centre shelf and a centre side. On the left-hand side there is a jewellery shelf, below which is a compartment that can be adjusted to any height. Behind the right-hand door, the upper section conceals a classically guided drawer that runs on a running frame and a strip or tilting runner. Underneath is a compartment that offers additional storage space. I opted for delicate, stable hairpin feet for the frame. The sideboard combines functionality with aesthetic appeal. The surface, which has been treated twice with colourless hard oil wax, is ideal for decorative elements, while the interior offers sufficient space for a wide variety of items.
