Remodelling and extension project starts at the Felbertal work school home

 

The start of the first construction phase marks the beginning of one of the largest modernisation projects in the school's history at the Werkschulheim Felbertal. Over the next few years, the school building will be renovated, extended and technically modernised in three construction phases - This is an important step towards creating optimal conditions for teaching, boarding and workshops.

Construction phase 1 (until the end of 2026)

- Extension of a school wing in modern timber construction

- Barrier-free access via lift and new staircase

- Refurbishment of façade, windows and building services

- Conversion and modernisation of the dining room

- Additional cloakroom for the gym

The costs of 7.9 million euros are borne in equal parts by the federal government, the province of Salzburg and the school maintenance organisation.

Further steps

In the following construction phases, the elongated school wing, administration and workshops will be renovated and extended. Planned are among others:

- New classrooms

- Modern workspaces for teachers

- Additional storage rooms and an IT area in the workshop wing

- Redesign of the schoolyard

Why this project is important

With the modernisation, the Felbertal factory school creates Modern learning and working spaces, It strengthens the campus as a living space and creates new capacities for boarding school, teaching and vocational training. At the same time, the profile as a Unique model for dual training in Austria further consolidated.
